Some of the biggest Hollywood stars have seen their seemingly rock-solid marriages crumble right before their eyes. Often, the private split turns public and NASTY! Some of the world’s highest-paid stars have even ended up handing over a huge chunk of their fortune to their former lover. These are Hollywood’s most bitter splits…
The ‘…Baby One More Time’ hitmaker tied the knot with backing dancer Kevin in 2004 and went on to have sons Sean Preston and Jayden with him. The pair called it quits in 2007 over “irreconcilable differences”. K-Fed is thought to have received $1.3 million as well as child support from Britney. Kevin still has custody of their children.
The Queen of Pop was married to British director Guy from 2000 until 2008 but he later accused her of becoming “obsessed” with the Kabbalah religion, which is thought to have led to their split. It is thought that he received $76 million from the ‘Material Girl’ songstress , who later said that she “stepped into a soap opera” with the marriage and “lived in it for a long period of time”, but she did not regret the union because they had sons Rocco and David together.
The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actress wed Hollywood superstar Tom in 2006 and had daughter Suri with him but the pair divorced in 2012. The split reportedly happened because Katie – who was raised Catholic – wanted to remove herself from her husband’s association with the Church of Scientology. Despite receiving a reported $400,000 per month in child support, Katie has claimed that Tom is no longer a part of his daughter’s life. Katie said: “She does not go to see his movies and he has no part in her life.”
The Beatles legend married former model Heather in 2002 but began divorce proceedings just five years later after finding it “increasingly difficult” to maintain a civil relationship. In the legal battle that followed, Heather – who has daughter Beatrice with the ‘Hey Jude’ singer – sought more than $100 million as a settlement but was eventually awarded just under $30 million, however, Heather was “very very pleased” with the result. Heather – who lost her left leg below the knee after being hit by a police motorcycle aged 25 – later said: “I was absolutely devastated and numb. I didn’t know what to do. Losing my left leg in a motorcycle accident was 20 times easier to deal with than losing my marriage. The thing that kept me going was Beatrice and my friends and family.”
The record producer – whose real name is Andre Romell Young – had been married to Nicole for 26 years and had children Trudy and Truice with her when they called time on their marriage in 2021. Irreconcilable differences were cited as the reason behind the split and Nicole received a reported $100 million as a settlement. Prior to the settlement decision, court documents claimed that Dr Dre had kicked her out of their home and “plotted to secretly transfer their assets, to deny Nicole her equal share”.
The ‘Easy On Me’ songstress tied the knot with Simon in 2018 after several years of dating but split less than a year later and completed divorce proceedings two years later. Adele – who gave birth to their son Angelo in 2012 – is thought to have handed Simon half of her reputed $180 million fortune and later described the whole process as “exhausting”. She said: “It was just exhausting trying to keep going with it. It’s a process. The process of divorce, the process of being a single parent, the process of not seeing your child every single day wasn’t really a plan I had when I became a mum.”
The reality superstar married rapper Kanye in 2014 and has North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm with him, but the pair called it quits in 2021 and they were divorced the following year. In the time that has followed, Kim has been subjected to various accusations from her ex-husband, including that she had an affair with rapper Drake and she had been denying him access to her children. Kim later said: “I’m stuck with this for the rest of my life, and I’m just so overwhelmed.”
The former ‘Friends’ actress and ‘Fight Club’ star Brad were one of Hollywood’s hottest couples in the early 2000s and but the pair divorced in 2005 amid rumours that he had become infatuaded with ‘Mr and Mrs Smith’ co-star Angelina Jolie, whom he later went on to marry and is currently enduring another messy divorce battle with her. Jennifer – who is thought to have got 50 per cent of what Brad had earned during their time together – later said when Brad had established himself with Angelina: “I can’t say it was one of the highlights of my year. Who would deal with that and say, ‘Isn’t that sweet! That looks like fun!’? But s*** happens!”
These Hollywood stars were married from 2005 until 2018 and have three children together. But Ben later explained that he divorced the ’13 Going On 30′ actress because it “didn’t work” and implied the relationship had driven him to booze. He said: “We had a marriage that didn’t work. This happens. It was somebody I love and respect but to whom I shouldn’t be married any longer … what I did was [I] drank a bottle of scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.” It is thought that Jennifer received $125 million in the settlement. Ben went on to marry former flame Jennifer Lopez in 2022.
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star could not have had any idea when he married ‘Aquaman’ actress Amber Heard in 2015 that their marriage would eventually become one of the messiest splits of all time. The former couple – who divorced in 2017 – were embroiled in a six-week defamation trial over an op-ed in The Washington Post that Amber wrote in 2018 in which she suggested that she had been a victim of domestic violence at Depp’s hands. The ‘Edward Scissorhands’ actor ultimately won the case, during which every sordid detail of their toxic marriage was revealed and reported on. Depp was awarded $10 million in damages after winning all three of his defamation claims while she was awarded $2 million after winning one of her three countersuit claims.

Is the Canelo Alvarez fight perfect timing for Jermell Charlo? Age … – Sporting News

Published

on

Since putting on gloves at 13 years old, Canelo Alvarez has gone from red-haired rookie sensation to boxing royalty.
Born in Guadalajara, the Mexican star has won gold in four divisions and he’s the current undisputed super middleweight champion. He has beaten the best in boxing, including Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, Amir Khan, and Gennadiy Golovkin.
Now 33, the battle-hardened Canelo has transitioned into the “veteran” category and some feel his best years are behind him. He now seeks to prove his doubters wrong when he defends his titles against Jermell Charlo on September 30.
“I always believe that I’m number one, my whole career,” Canelo said at a media workout. “You need to believe in yourself, I still believe I’m number one. But I believe there is more than just one fighter alone at the top, there are a few. I still feel young and fresh. I never think about the end of my career. I just train and fight year after year. I still feel that I’m at my best.”
The Canelo-Charlo fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, a familiar home for Canelo, whereas Charlo is headlining there for the first time. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will air on Showtime PPV in the U.S. and DAZN in the U.K.

Per Sports Interaction, Canelo is the -388 favorite, while Charlo, the undisputed super welterweight champion, is the +288 underdog. Despite those odds, Charlo, also 33, sees himself as the better fighter.
“This is the biggest fight in boxing, and I’m coming to leave it all in the ring like I do every time,” Charlo said. “I manifested this fight into existence and earned it with everything I’ve done in this sport so far. Canelo is a great fighter, but he’s gonna see what Lions Only is all about. When the fight’s over, people are gonna have to recognize that I’m the best fighter in the sport.”
Charlo is not worried about the weight gain, having to move up two weight classes to take on Canelo. Sparring big men and working alongside his brother Jermall, the WBC middleweight champion, Jermell believes this is the perfect time to fight Canelo.
Does Charlo have a fair point? Could Canelo be overlooking the supposedly smaller man?

Canelo already announced his intentions on The Breakfast Club to retire around 36-37. He even teased retirement if he lost to John Ryder in May, which is a fight he would go on to win by unanimous decision. A former pound-for-pound No. 1, Canelo has tough challenges ahead of him outside of Charlo, including David Benavidez and a potential rematch against light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol.
Boxing great Bernard Hopkins believes Charlo is a different challenge for Canelo, who hasn’t fought below super middleweight since 2019.

“His style is totally different from the styles that Canelo has fought. [Charlo is] younger, more determined to prove that Canelo’s time has been great, but it’s up,” Hopkins told Fight Hype via Boxing Social. “I just believe that Canelo will have to get him out of there early. The later the fight goes, the more Canelo will start showing not only his age but he’ll start showing the success he’s been enjoying for so long is starting to look different.
“I see hard-earned, skillful moments in that fight where [Charlo], who wants to prove himself, will come out and show us something that we knew he had, but he’s never had to show it till he steps in with Canelo. Canelo elevates Charlo. I just think he has the skills, and if he maintains that mentality, it can be really a nightmare for Canelo, based on style.”
Charlo was supposed to fight Tim Tszyu for super welterweight gold before a hand injury nixed a planned bout. He wants to become undisputed at 168, return to 154, and potentially take on pound-for-pound No. 1 Terence Crawford. Regardless of his upcoming plans, Charlo’s focus is solely on beating Canelo, the man who has had beef with both brothers.
Holding more gold and honoring family is enough motivation for Charlo. Though he has proven everyone wrong over the years, the current uncertainty surrounding Canelo may be the perfect time for the Louisiana-born Charlo to face the super middleweight king.
