Could take place in Las Vegas
The evident rivalry between these two giants of the tech and business world, Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, owners of Meta and Twitter respectively, has escalated to a whole new level. They are now aiming to bring their ongoing feud to the UFC fight octagon in Las Vegas, Nevada.
What began as late-night criticisms of Meta’s planned Twitter competitor has now transformed into the possibility of an actual Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event.
What may have initially seemed like a joke is now becoming a reality. The worlds of technology and business have witnessed similar intense rivalries before.
We can recall the legendary feud between Apple’s Steve Jobs and Microsoft’s Bill Gates, where their divergent opinions and professional competition made a lasting mark in history.
Now, another rivalry of comparable magnitude is seeking resolution through the power of fists. Both entrepreneurs appear genuinely committed to taking this battle beyond the realm of business, as they eagerly embrace the idea of being locked inside a cage for a physical confrontation.
The CEO of the UFC, Dana White, has already been in contact with them. He reveals that he has had serious conversations with Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk regarding their proposed cage fight.
“Probably spent an hour and a half on the phone with both of them last night,” White told TMZ.
He further confirmed that both individuals are wholeheartedly dedicated to making this happen.
White believes it could be the fight of the century and surpass the record-breaking numbers of the Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather bout, becoming the highest-selling fight in history.
According to reports from the Spanish portal El Cronista, both billionaires have received offers from individuals willing to train them for the upcoming showdown.
Recently, MMA fighter Jon Jones extended his services to Zuckerberg, expressing his allegiance with a tweet: “You already know I am Team Zuck…. Let me know if you need a training partner!”
Not to be outdone, Musk quickly responded to another article from TMZ, accepting an offer to train with Georges St-Pierre, a legendary figure in mixed martial arts.
“I’m a huge fan of yours and it would be an absolute honor to help you and be your training partner for the challenge against Zuckerberg,” St-Pierre said.
Musk promptly replied, “Ok, let’s do it.”
Currently, there is no specific date or venue confirmed for the fight. Although there is considerable interest and pressure from users on social networks to make it happen, no formal confirmation has been made.
However, White, after his discussions with both individuals, expressed his willingness to organize the fight, and it has been mentioned that the proceeds would go to charity. If the fight is organized by the UFC, it is likely to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
