Boxing News: Broner fight officially POSTPONED » August 13, 2023 – Fight News

Published

on

BLK Prime has announced the cancellation of the Adrien Broner vs Michael Williams Jr. fight scheduled to take place on February 25 at The Gateway Center @ College Park, GA. Broner’s next fight will be postponed to a later date with a new opponent.
Adrien Broner: “I worked my ass off and I see what the bottom really looked like for the first time. I looked in the mirror and I told myself I am not that person and I got off my ass and went to work! These last four months I got in amazing shape and I’m in a great space in my life. I know this ain’t the WWF but right now I feel like Triple H cause I’m back healthy, happy, and HUNGRY!!! Sorry to all my fans but I will continue this journey – support me and I fight for you!”
I hope, mostly for Broner’s sake, that they get this back on quickly. Hopefully he stays in shape because if its… like three months before they reschedule, he may have to do all of this over again.
Maybe Redkach”s foolish promoter will allow him to fight on the new date. Or Blk finds Broner a more interesting opponent
Broner may be in shape, but time passed him by. The time for him to get it done was for the Mikey Garcia fight. That was 5.5 years ago and the guy doesn’t have the power at 33 or 34 to do much at 147. He might as well just bulk up and go at 158 and try to fight Jarrett Hurd. If Broner beat Jarrett Hurd, Floyd might give him an exhibition fight.
Love the sarcasm! But why not 154 or 160 Tom?
Where is a cherry, when you need one the most.
What a shit show, not like im disappointed though. I remember when Broner hit the scene and was touted as the next Mayweather but with power. Was impressive and then it all fell apart. Wasted talent isn’t going to turn back the clock now

He was Much better at the lighter weight.
Agreed, has bkown up like pops
Couldn’t care less tbh. The boxing world doesn’t need Adrien Broner.
Broner is arguably the first four-division world titlist who hasn’t done anything to merit induction to the IBHOF. Just makes you shake your head when you think about it.
Agree….Broner..,is talented…trying not to use the word “was” but damn…He could do it all….lacked focus…the true ingredient of a champion…. Maidana may have affected his heart though
…still hoping for his success story in boxing …..for Bronner .,not another tragic boxing example….Bronner rooting for you clean it up …stay sincerely focus…be a professional…you have an amazing skill set….(trying not to say “had”…)
Broner was never the same after the Maidana embarrassment and he’s wasted a lot of time.
Some fighters are never the same after a prolonged ass whooping. Maidana beat the fight out of Broner.
He will never see the billions he always show off about. All the notes he rained and the $20’s he flushed he needs it now.
This is about the 5th postponement of a Broner fight. He may end up fighting in bars or join the bare knuckle group.
I saw the fight at least 5 times, and I enjoyed every second of that humiliation lmao
Is this potential opponent #3 or #4 next?
No explanation as to why it was posponed?
Exactly, Rob. Why was the fight postponed?
I think Williams broke his jaw .. or that’s the reason given by his camp.
The HUNGRY part scares me!! Hope he doesn’t balloon up to light heavy by weeks end?!!
Broner is like that car crash you know you shouldn’t stop and stare at, but you do anyway.
Where’s Adrian Granados when you need him….Rematch from their 2017 bout! That kid is ALWAYS in shaoe and ready to go…Win, Lose or draw!!
Its obvious, the ppv sales didn’t do well at all for such a lower than free antenna tv fight! Only in their sick minds they tought it would generate any kind of revenue!
The biggest concern for Broner is staying out of jail. I’m betting he doesn’t.
Anyone surprised?
He duck and rolly he don’t want no smoke

What time is Anthony Joshua vs Robert Helenius today? Schedule, main card start time for 2023 boxing fight – Sporting News

Published

on

Former two-time heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua is determined to stay active, so when old foe Dillian Whyte was pulled from the O2 Arena card at just seven days’ notice, the immediate goal was to find AJ a replacement opponent.
Whyte failed a VADA test, so a long-awaited rematch with Joshua went down the drain, conceivably with his career as a serious heavyweight contender. Replacing him will be former two-time European champion Robert Helenius, who knocked off some ring rust on Saturday past by posting a third-round stoppage of the unknown Mika Mielonen.

The good news is that Helenius is in fighting shape. The bad news is he’s been installed as a +1000 underdog to derail Joshua, who is looking for some ring time ahead of a potential showdown with former WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
Will Joshua swat Helenius aside and face “The Bronze Bomber”, or will “The Nordic Nightmare” produce one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight history?
Here’s all you need to know about Joshua vs. Helenius, including viewing details, prices, and more.
Joshua vs. Helenius will be on August 12.  The main card starts at 7 p.m. local time, which is 2 p.m. ET and 11 a.m. PT.
Both fighters should make their way to the ring at around 10.15 p.m. BST (5.15 p.m. ET, 2.15 p.m. PT), depending on how long the undercard fights last. Here’s how that translates to different timezones globally:
