They were the first and only promoter to bring HBO to Canada; they stepped in to rescue what seemed like a sure disaster and help rescue the Showtime Championship Boxing card featuring Timothy Bradley and Kendall Holt helping preserve the integrity of the sport in Canada; they moved outside the safety of Montreal downriver to Quebec City and had an instant sell-out for Bute-Andrade II, and they put aside their long-standing rivalry with fellow promoter GYM to co-promote an all-Canadian World Title fight between Adrian Diaconu and Jean Pascal. Both internationally and domestically, Interbox went where it had never been before and presented a quality product every time out.

Honourable mention: Orion Sports Management

It’s not easy when you lose your only world champion, but Orion moved ahead seamlessly and introduced Marvin Sonsona to the large Philippine community in Toronto and the always full house at Casino Rama. Meanwhile Steve Molitor kept on winning and looks to once again be in a position to challenge for another world title in 2010.
